1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Alabama Beach Flag application (the “App”) and the related public Alabama Beach Flag website and support pages (together, the “Services”). It does not describe unrelated services or third-party websites.

2. Information we collect

Alabama Beach Flag does not require an account or login. The App does not use advertising, advertising SDKs, analytics, or behavioral tracking. Alabama Beach Flag does not sell personal information.

Submitting an information report is optional. If you choose Report Incorrect Information, you must provide an issue category and an explanation, which may contain other user-entered content. You may also provide a contact email address, but an email address is not required. The App transmits those entries together with the report creation time, app version and build, platform, a report identifier used to prevent duplicate submissions, the current catalog version when available, and identifiers and readable titles for the app content involved in the report. It does not transmit your device location.

The report is used only to identify, privately review, investigate, and resolve a possible problem with App content or behavior and to contact you about that report if you supplied an email address. A report does not automatically change official information, beach flags, conditions, maps, sources, closures, or safety guidance. Cloudflare transiently processes network information, including source IP, to protect the submission endpoint from abuse; Alabama Beach Flag does not store source IP in correction-report records, report history, notification email, or admin responses.

Apple and the infrastructure providers that help deliver the Services may process ordinary technical information needed to complete a purchase, download the App, serve a webpage, or deliver network requests. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Information that you voluntarily send by email is addressed separately below.

3. Location information

The App does not request, collect, store, or transmit your device’s precise or approximate location. You manually choose a beach in the App. Geographic coordinates already associated with supported beaches or catalog items may identify the content involved in a correction report; they are not your device’s location.

4. Storage, retention, and deletion

Your favorite-beach selection and relevant cached App data may be stored locally on your device. The favorite-beach preference and information needed by Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets may be shared between the App and its widget extension using Apple’s App Group storage.

A completed information report is saved in a private local outbox before upload. It remains on that device and is retried when the App is allowed to run until the service confirms acceptance, or until you delete the pending report. Deleting a pending report removes that unsent report from the device.

After the service accepts a report, the report and its review history are stored in a private operational database for review and resolution. The current service does not enforce a fixed automatic deletion period, and changing a report’s review status does not delete it. To ask about deletion of an accepted report, contact the privacy address below and provide enough non-sensitive detail to identify the report. A request will be evaluated against the information available and any applicable operational or legal need to retain it.

The App may also retain last-known conditions locally so it can identify or display cached information when current data is delayed or unavailable. Preferences, reports, and caches are not used for advertising or tracking.

5. Public data and third-party services

The App retrieves and displays public beach-flag, weather, water-quality, tide, marine, UV, alert, and safety information from government agencies, local authorities, Apple services where applicable, and other documented public providers. This public-source information is about coastal locations and conditions, not personal information about you.

Alabama Beach Flag uses a backend service to fetch, validate, normalize, cache, and deliver public information to the App. External providers operate under their own terms and privacy practices, and their information may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, inaccurate, or changed at the source.

6. Website privacy

The public website does not use advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing scripts, and it does not set cookies through its page code. When you visit, the hosting provider and network services involved in delivering the site may process ordinary request information, such as an IP address, browser details, requested page, and timestamp, for delivery, reliability, and security. Following an external link, including an App Store link, sends a request to that third party under its privacy practices.

7. Scripture attribution

8. Email communications

If you email support, privacy, or legal contacts, your message and related email details may contain information you voluntarily provide. That information is used to review and respond to your inquiry and to address related App, policy, safety-information, or legal issues. Please do not include sensitive information that is not necessary for your request.

9. Data sharing

Alabama Beach Flag does not sell or rent personal information. Correction reports are processed by the infrastructure services needed to receive, secure, notify the reviewer about, and store the report. Information you voluntarily provide by email may be processed by the email and infrastructure services needed to receive, secure, and respond to the message. Ordinary technical information may likewise be processed by Apple, hosting, network, and public-data services as described above.

10. Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children. Alabama Beach Flag does not knowingly solicit personal information from children. A correction report or email may nevertheless contain information a person voluntarily provides; such information is handled as described in this policy. A parent or guardian may contact the privacy address below about a child’s information.

11. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the Services or their information practices. Material revisions will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
